Baumgartner Announces Early Endorsements in U.S. Senate Bid

State Senator Michael Baumgartner announced last week that he has received endorsements from Secretary of State Sam Reed, State Senate Republican Leader Mike Hewitt and many other Republican State Senators.

“It is a great boost to receive these early endorsements from Republican leaders from all across the state,” said Baumgartner, who is challenging Maria Cantwell for the U.S. Senate in 2012. “This vote of confidence from my colleagues means a lot to me and is a clear signal that my candidacy connects with the broad majority of Republican and Independent voters.”

In addition to Senate Republican Leader Mike Hewitt (Walla Walla), Baumgartner was also endorsed by Senate Republican Floor Leader Mark Schoesler (Ritzville) and Senators Joe Zarelli (Ridgefield), Curtis King (Yakima), Jeff Baxter (Spokane Valley), Andy Hill (Redmond), Joe Fain (Auburn), Steve Litzow (Mercer Island), Randi Becker (Eatonville), Bob Morton (Kettle Falls), Doug Erickson (Bellingham), Dan Swecker (Rochester), and Janea Holmquist-Newbry (Moses Lake).
