"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brush fires of freedom in the minds of men."

GHRP Endorse Jesse Young by Unanimous Vote

The Grays Harbor Republican Party voted to endorse Jesse Young for Congress at its Central Committee Meeting on October 4. The vote was unanimous. Young is running in the Sixth District against 34-year incumbent Norm Dicks.

Said Young, "I’m very honored that the Grays Harbor Republican Party has shown me so much support. Not only am I thankful for this endorsement, but I’m looking forward to building a strong partnership with the people of this County. Together, we will make a positive change for our district."

"The county has been represented by an ivory tower incumbent for too long," said Grays Harbor Republican Party Chair Kristine Lowder. "This endorsement shows our confidence in Jesse Young, his campaign, and his ability to effect positive change for Grays Harbor."

The son of a hard-working single mom whose family struggled with homelessness, Young grew up in the Hilltop neighborhood of Tacoma. He is a high school class valedictorian and worked as a dishwasher to help pay for his college education at Notre Dame, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems in 1999. Since then, Young has traveled around the United States consulting with major corporations in the aerospace, healthcare, energy, insurance, and real estate industries. In 2007, Jesse accepted the position of Senior Business Technology Consultant with Russell Investments, then headquartered in Tacoma, where he consulted in the departments of Global Human Resources, Global Finance and the Office of the CEO.

"This endorsement is welcomed by Jesse, and he is looking forward to representing the interests of Harborites in Washington, DC." said Terry Moore, Copalis Beach resident and the Grays Harbor County Chair for the Jesse Young for Congress WA-6th (R) campaign.

Lowder added, "Grays Harbor deserves better than a career politician who shows up for an occasional photo opp during an election year. Jesse Young is a frequent presence on the Harbor. He's listening to our issues and concerns and actively reaching out to businesses, community leaders, families and everyday folks. Jesse is engaged, energetic and ready to hit the ground running as our representative in Washington, D.C."

Jesse, his wife Jennie and their five children reside in Gig Harbor, Washington where they are involved members of both their church and community.

Washington's Sixth Congressional District encompasses the Olympic Peninsula and includes Grays Harbor, the southern part of Kitsap County and the northwestern portion of Pierce County. For more, see: www.jesseyoungforcongress.com

The Young endorsement was re-affirmed at the GHRP's County Convention on April 21, 2012.
